A run of 65 miles, a mile for each year since D-Day 1944.
Project 65 runners will run 65 miles, a mile for each year since 1944, and turn the run into the most historic event this century. The run will last for 21hours, a feat in itself, but being part of this occasion you will make history as did those men all those years ago. The attack on the bridges was described as the most successful raid of the WWII. So be a part of it!
If you are training for the London Marathon this year, afterwards you may find yourself at a loose end, no real target to set your sights on, then join us on a historic run, no PB a nice run, jog, walk to make history. 65 miles to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of D-Day.
Already we have a retired 73 year old Brigadier, a widow of one of the officers that took part in the securing Pegasus Bridge. Police Officers, serving military personnel from The Rifles Brigade (currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan) 3 Army Air Corp and many more. If you can run a marathon in 4 to 6 hours then you can join us for a 65 mile jog, walk over a period of 21 hours. We even stop for breakfast! You need a passport, Pegasus Bridge is in France, and you will be treated as VIPs; meet the remaining WWII veterans and be part of a historic event. It can never happen again. Also be safe in the knowledge that you will be raising money for the UK military that have suffered trauma and serious injury during active service.
