Who we are...

Mounts Bay Harriers are the newest local Running, Triathlon and Athletics Club in Penwith, being set up by local triathletes and runners in June 2005. The club meets at Mounts Bay School every Monday at 7pm for social runs of varying lengths, with structured coached sessions on Thursdays at 7:30pm.

...and what we do!

The club now has over 200 members and regularly has 20-30 turning up for training sessions. Of the group that turn out there is always a wide standard of athletes from beginners, who are especially welcome, to accomplished triathletes and runners. The club also has a large junior section who meet on Friday nights at "The Dome" at Mounts Bay School, Heamoor.

Coose Trannack Schools Cross Country

Dear Teacher / Organiser / Parent,

I have the pleasure of inviting the children of your school / club to the 10th annual running of ‘Coose  Trannack Cross Country Races’ on Saturday am 6th March 2010.

The event is held in Coose Trannack Woodland adjacent to Trannack School (nr Helston). It is a millennium wood with fantastic views over the Lizard Peninsular & the course is sloping and challenging.

The event is independent from the cross-country leagues and is open to all children of all abilities from infants through to secondary school (Yr R to Yr 11).

Please find enclosed an information sheet (see link below) that should answer any questions that you have.
It would be helpful to the organisation of the event if you could send a quick early e-mail back if your school or club intends to come along - and then you can send in your registration form with the names of the children closer to the event.

Please note the following main changes to the organisation this year:-

1 / All competitors will be given a race number on the day to wear which will be used to record the race results. This will mean that it will be no longer be necessary for the competitors to report their position to the registration office after the race.

2 / Though the boys and girls will race together, there will be a staggered start so that they will set off separately.

3/ The lucky dip treat will remain, but there will also be a free piece of fruit for all competitors.

4 / We have had to increase the entry fee this year to £1-50 (previously £1) due to increased costs.

5 / There will not be a separate programme produced this year - all of the information on the event is now in the Information sheet.

We hope you can come along and enjoy and look forward to welcoming your child / children on March 6th

Paul Wiltshire on behalf of PFTC
