The event will start at Ruan Lanihorne and finish at Smugglers Cottage, Roseland about 5.3 kms downstream. The swim will start at high tide and swimmers will therefore be aided by an out going tide. The inlet is peaceful, beautiful and ideal for swimming as it is well protected by high wooded banks which come right down to the waters edge.

The Charmouth Challenge is the most southerly fell race in England. The 8 mile course goes through some of the finest coastal scenery in the South West. It includes an ascent of Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast of England at 191m. The ‘Mini Challenge’ follows a 2.5 mile course in the same area. The setting for both runs is Dorset’s beautiful Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage site and is metres from Charmouth’s famous fossil beach.
A huge variety of people enter the Challenge from the serious runners to the not so serious – it really is an event for all ages and abilities – something for everyone and a great day by the seaside! Go on challenge yourself……
