A 70.3 Triathlon & a 24 hour challenge

The last two weekends have seen two Harriers take part in two very different events.
Richard Alford made the long journey to Yorkshire to take part in the Sundowner 70.3 Triathlon- this consisted of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle and a half marathon. Richard finished in an excellent time of 5 hours 16 minutes giving him 3rd place in his age group which he was chuffed with. Richard commented that this was a brilliantly organised event & really nice course.
Closer to home, over the Bank Holiday weekend, Helen Davies spent the time doing a 24 hour running race around the King George Memorial Walk in Hayle. This event consists of running as many laps of just over a mile around the Walk over a 24 hour period. The weather was a real mixed bag with Sundays rain making a tough mental challenge even tougher. Helen completed a total of 78 laps (82.68 miles) over the 24 hours. An amazing achievement.
