Mounts Bay Harriers held it?s Annual Awards and Presentation Evening on Saturday 28 January. Over 60 senior members and guests attended The Queens Hotel in Penzance for a 3 course dinner followed by a ?brief? speech from Chairman Ian Matthews, a few bits of silverware awarded and to end the night entertainment by local popular duo The BT Experience.
We had moved venue this year and I must say reports have been very positive, the standard of the service, quality of the food and the feeling of being welcomed was second to none, so I feel we may well be returning next year.
The Chairman started by welcoming everyone in the room and paid a special thankyou to Sue, who puts in so much work behind the scenes to keep the club running, and to also Yvonne, who organises all of our MBH events (Penzance Tri, 4 Jubilee Pool Aquathlons, Junior Aquathlon, Remembrance Run, Race for Wildlife) as well as helping out with the coaching
Ian stated that the club was still growing and because we have the reputation as ?a club for all abilities? this seems to be a major attraction for many ?new? runners or triathletes
As in previous years the award winners are voted for by the members for the members of the club as this tends make things as fair and as impartial as possible.
