Another busy weekend

It has been a busy weekend for Mounts Bay Harriers, starting a little bit further up the country

10 harriers travelled to Braunton in north Devon to compete in the 10m and 10k, they were tough courses with stunning views and the weather was perfect for the race.

Results are
Stuart Backhouse 1.18.47, Damian Cook 1.24.27, Peter Uren 1.27.04 (first in ag) , Sam Rowe1.36.32, Nicky Morse 1.37.28, Claire Backhouse 1.50.47, Sarah Johns 1.54.40, Emma Johns 2.06.01.

And the 10k results are
Penny Uren 1.15.19 and Amanda Prosser 1.16.42
Amanda Prosser commented saying that she quite enjoyed this race.

Closer to home saw the first race in the Grand Prix series Storm Force 10 mile race which is hosted by Carn Runners.

Storm Force is a good fast race with a downhill start then some long road stretches with one or two hills then the same hill to go back up to the finish line which is at Camborne science and international Academy.
A group of Mounts Bay Harriers went up to Camborne to take part in this race, everyone ran well and managed to get a few PB’s. 
John McWilliams ran really well he was there first Harrier home in a brilliant time of 59:31
Ruth Glover was the first female Harrier home in a time of 1:16:21 which was a PB for her which she was delighted with.
Janet Haynes also did well, she ran 1:18:36 and managed to get herself second in the age group with she was very pleased with.
John Doyle also got second in his age group which he was pleased with too.
MBH male team got 10th out of 31 
Female team got 17th out of 33

Mounts Harriers also had junior team representing them in the first Sports Hall Challenge of the year

Three from our junior section headed to Carn Brea on Saturday for the Sportshall challenge. 
All competed well and are already looking forward to the next competition.
