Boconnoc 5 mile race was the final event in the Cornwall Glazing sponsored multi terrain series and ten Mounts Bay Harriers joined over 300 hundred runners to race around this tranquil and remote estate. The weather started fine but the evening rain soon arrived and the going got wetter and more slippery , there were hills woodland trails and steep descents and the Harriers enjoyed every bit of them . There was a top ten finish for Tristan Sellors in fourth and age group placings for Gary Richards and George Andrews. All await the final reckonings now to confirm their seasons placings. Holly Tregear was the only junior Harrier to travel and race in the one mile race and clocked a speedy 8.22 with time to smile at supporters on the way. The next round of the multi terrain series starts at the end of July with the Tywardreath Trotter.
Further afield Nigel Sims and Heidi Swaby tackled the Vegan 3k Ultra in Snowdonia it was their first mountain race with the steepest longest climbs they have met so far with the top in the clouds, an hour and a half to reach the summit with a non stop effort. Rock climbing , shale slides & scrambles, scary ridge traverses @ over 1000mtrs on slippery rock. I tough challenge in a beautiful place .
