INFORMATION SHEET FOR RUNNERS
THE COURSE is a two lap route, starting and finishing at the Penventon Park Hotel. It is generally flat and intitially follows an out and back one mile section, before turning north on to a two lap circular route along the spectacular north coast and back through the historic mining district of Pool. The ‘20’ takes a detour on the second lap, rejoining the marathon route to the finish.
DISTANCE MARKERS will be positioned at every mile for both races.
DRINK STATIONS will be provided at three mile intervals and at the finish.
SPONGE STATIONS are located at five, eleven, seventeen and twenty three miles.

PASTIES will be available free of charge for all runners in the Forum Room after the races. Please bring your race number. There will also be pasties on sale for family members, supporters and very hungry runners who would like a second one!
With an anticipated combined entry of 400 runners for the Duchy Marathon and Duchy 20 on Sunday 8 March 2009, there will be some pressure on car parking. We have arranged parking in the following areas:-
THE HOTEL CAR PARKS The main car parks will obviously fill first. There is also parking space available behind the Twilight Zone. This will be signposted with a pink overflow parking sign.
WEST END CAR PARK This is located opposite the main hotel entrance. It will be signposted. Kerrier have given us permission to use this car park free of charge on Marathon day.
REDRUTH SCHOOL We have permission to use the parking areas OUTSIDE of Redruth School. There is room for about 70 cars here. Do not park in the school as the exits could be locked at some point in the afternoon. The school is a five minute walk from the Penventon Park Hotel. The school can be accessed off the A3047 dual carriageway. For those familiar with the venue of the Turkey Trot races at Trickys, Redruth School entrance is located on the opposite side of the dual carriageway to the turn for Trickys. If you use this parking area, walk down the hill towards Tesco petrol station, turn immediately right after the petrol station along a footpath, keeping the main Tesco car park and store on your left hand side. At the end of this footpath turn right into the grounds of Penventon Park Hotel.
As with so many Grand Prix races these days, the advice would be to car share where possible and arrive in plenty of time to park safely and make your way to the Hotel.
