Early October 2018 Racing

To Prussia with love:
An 11 mile multi terrain race raising funds for amental health charity.  This race started in difficult wet & windy conditions before drying up towards the end. First MBH member back was Mark Worledge in 1:22:49 finishing 2nd overall.

The Land’s End 100 cycle sportive:
Unfortunately the long route on this event was cancelled for safety reasons due to the poor weather conditions that were expected. All riders were moved down to the medium route covering 63 miles. The event did start in really wet & windy conditions, despite drying up the strong winds continued all the way through to the end.
In his first sportive Tom Berryman was first MBH member back in 3:49:44 comfortably inside the time for earning himself a gold medal.
Also earning a gold medal was Richard Alford finishing in 4:09:20 this event also had an extra perhaps Richard as it was the final part of the Three Counties Cycle Challenge for him.

Wheal Jane Hard Rock Duathlon:
This event consisted of a 4 mile multi terrain run followed by a 12 traffic free cycle with 1.5 run to finish. First MBH member to finish was Ian Matthews in 1:21:43 also completing this challenge was Sarah Tregear in 1:39:34 & Yvonne Turner in 1:54:43

Chester Marathon:
FouR Harrier made the long journey to compete in the Chester marathon. This popular event saw one Harrier, Janet Haynes representing England for her first time – a well deserved recognition. Pete Legrice finished 2nd in 2:21.  Janet Haynes run representing England Master Marathon Team finishing in 3:41:42 setting a new PB. Michael Rooney who was taking on his first full distance marathon finished in 3:31:46
Lize Whybrow also finished in 6:20:59

In the Basingstoke Half Marathon, Sandra Treleven finished  in 2:11:20 which she was delighted with. Sandra stated that it was a fab event going through the beautiful Hampshire countryside with amazing crowds.

Budapest Marathon:
This event saw eight MBH members travel to take on varying challenges in the beautiful city. This fast flat course takes on many of the city’s sights.
Jackie Stone completed a half marathon in 2:26:52
Damian Cook completed a 30k in 3:06:32
A relay team of four compiled of Pete Uren, Penny Uren, Amanda Prosser & Rachel Glover completed the full marathon of 26.3 miles in 5:31:23
Also in relay team of two Nicholas Morse & Jackie Morse completed the full marathon of 26.3 miles in 4:11:09 whilst celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary.
