Enduroman Format:
12 mile swim, 560 mile bike, 131 mile run – cut off 7 days

Original format Deca Ironman races allow continuous multiple run and bike laps of flat monotonous courses over a few kilometres. Athletes may rest and sleep at their own leisure. Most athletes develop a routine of sleeping around 3 hours during a similar time each day in the early hours.

The Enduroman 5-Iron takes you across an extremely demanding bike course on open roads and a run course along a challenging and undulating trail. Instead of athletes choosing when to sleep, the race dictates that all athletes will not compete from between 3 hours before first light and first light. This also ensures the safety of our athletes out on the courses.

Itinerary

Day 1 12 Mile swim in a 25m pool. Wetsuits Permitted.

Days 2-5 3 days of cycling 160 miles per day (one out and back lap)
1 day of cycling 80 miles.

Days 6-7 131 mile run continuously over 2.5 days.

Cut-offs:

Swim: 11hrs
Bike days 2-4: 21hrs
Bike day 5: 11hrs
Run: 60hrs.
