Falmouth & London Landmarks half marathons & Tamar 10k

Last weekend saw 10 Harriers in Falmouth for the next event in the Road Racing Grand Prix – the half marathon. This half takes runners around some of the villages around Falmouth & is renowned for its hills! Tim Twigg was first Harrier back & 54th overall in an excellent time of 1.33.52. Janet Haynes was the first Harrier lady in 1.46.37. Running with his guide Simon Jones, Keith Gale was delighted with a new pb of 1.58.14.

Sunday 24th March saw Four Harriers travelling up to Plymouth to take part in first ever race of the Tamar Bridge 10k
The Harriers said this was an exciting race and well marshalled, they ran over the bridge twice finishing with a steep and long run back up to the finish line. This Two lap loop course, which all Harriers said was great as you got to see your team mates and cheer them on.
Ruth Glover was the first (and only) female Harrier back, she was really pleased to finish 9th out of 455 female finishers
Michael Rooney led the team home with first Harrier and first male back.
With Father and son battling it out, Matthew Cook just beat his dad home with 1 minute between them.

Further away from Cornwall, Julie Bolitho ran the second London Landmarks half marathon in 2.36.44.

Mounts Bay Harriers meet on Monday evenings, 7 pm at Mounts Bay Academy. Our junior club meet on Friday evenings. Please see our website for further details- www.mountsbayharriers.co.uk
