Harriers long distance running & at The London Triathlon

On Saturday 15th July, 5 Harriers traveled to Thame in Oxfordshire to race 100k from Thame to Avebury Stone Circle in The Race To The Stones. This Ultra distance race was all off road, following The Ridgeway which is a 5000 year old road. Competitors had 24 hours to complete the distance.
Gary Richards was the first Harrier home in an excellent time of 10.09.58. Sue Taylor & Rachel Thomson ran together & finished in 17.36.21. Both enjoyed the event & said the route was varied & interesting but they were pleased to finish. Yvonne Watkins & Jackie Morse also ran together, finishing in 17.48.20.
The Harriers triathletes were out in London for the annual triathlon in the capital. Three Harriers, Ruth Glover, Michael Ringwood & Caleb Munday did the Olympic distance which comprised a 1.5k swim, 40k bike & a 10k run. This was Ruth Glover’s longest triathlon yet & she loved the route & commented that the race was well organised. Helen Hughes did the shorter sprint distance.
