The last couple of weeks have seen three Harriers taking part in events in the Uk & Europe.
Eden Backhouse travelled to Worthing for European qualifier Triathlon. Eden was delighted to finish seventh in her age category and within 120% of 1st place. She has qualified to go to the European championships in Russia 2019. Eden commented that she didn’t feel her best in this race so to qualify is a great boost for her.
Continuing on a European theme, Stacey Nicholas travelled to Italy for the Xterra off road triathlon. This was an Olympic distance event & Stacey’s first off road competition. She completed the course in just under five hours coming 3rd in her age group & 12th female overall. Stacey said this was the hardest thing she has ever done.
Finally, in Wiltshire, Stuart Thomson ran 100k in the ultra distance Race To The Stones. The 100k route follows the ancient Ridgeway track from Thame to Avebury Stones Circle. The temperature averaged 26 degrees making conditions challenging for the competitors. Stuart finished the event in 12hours 38 minutes giving him 67th place out of 895.
