Another brilliant event thanks to all the competitors and marshals alike!

74 took part tonight, including a few first timers – Eve Lay being one of them (see picture)!? She was so nervous beforehand she nearly didn’t get in the pool (she even borrowed the tri-suit from Nigel!), but she followed me in and completed her first aquathlon – next stop, triathlon!

The youngsters are just getting better and better.? Jordon Roberts (16)?of Hayle SLSC, came third overall followed by Matthew Trewhella (15)?of Gyllynvase SLSC fifth, with Tom Wood??(14) of MBH close behind in seventh.? Jack Hoare (18) of Penzance SC, Robin Watson (19) of Tri Logic, Jacob Wood (13) of MBH?and Felix Coates (18) of Gyllynvase SLSC,?all finished in under 16 minutes and in? the top 20.? Well done to you all.

The girls were equally as good with Vicky Burlingham (13) of Carn Brea SC?was first junior home, followed by Imogen Terry (13) of Penzance SC, Nicola Russell (15) of Gyllynvase SLSC?and Amy Jolly (15) of Carn Brea SC.?

neil-eddyNeil Eddy (pictured left) of Cyclelogic,?following his success on Saturday evening of winning the St Ives Biathlon, he once again won the event in 12:48?knocking 19 seconds off of May’s time.? His swim time?was 2:19 (which includes getting out of the pool and up the steps into transition) and a run time of 10:29.? Second was MBH’s Peter Le Grice ?in 13:29.? He put so much effort in that when he crossed the line he went all light-headed and Miles Johansen came to the rescue with an energy drink.? Third, as mentioned previously, was Jordon Roberts in 13:58.

Alice Nicholas of MBH is having a great time at the moment, what with winning the St Ives Biathlon last Saturday and now coming first tonight in 15:06, she is just flying!? Second in was MBH’s Charlotte Hurst in 15:51 and third, previously mentioned, Vicky Burlingham.

dave-pellDave Pell (pictured left)?was fourth overall and first male vet in a time of 14:11.? He seems to be improving with age!? Second in was Will Luckhurst of Harkows Harriers (?) in 15:15?and third Anthony Stevenson in 15:32.

Sasha Osborne is also having a good week – 3rd at St Ives Biathlon and first vet, and also first vet here tonight in 16:59.??(She was only 15 seconds behind 13-year-old Vicky Burlingham!)? Second was Tamsin Eddy 17:25 and third Jackie Roberts 17:49.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves tonight.? The Yacht Inn was packed for the presentation.? I hope to see everyone at the next event on Wednesday, 28 July 2010 at 7pm.
