Jubilee Pool Aquathlon – Race 2

Wet, wet and more wet!!!  What an evening – the marshals were wetter than the competitors!  At least the competitors got warm by running, the poor marshals had to just stand there and suffer.

I think it was a swim followed by an open water run!

Unbelievably, considering the weather conditions, 43 people entered on the night – they must be mad!!  In total, 63 competitors took part.

Yet again, Neil Eddy held off Kyle Kearey to take first place.  Mike Robinson was not far behind to take third place.

Sue Ogilvie yet again won the women’s race with young Charlotte Hurst coming second, followed by our own 14-year-old Sarah Bonar.

The men’s veteran’s race was a close run thing with John Wheeler, Nigel Sims (MBH) and Dave Pell (CAC) all finishing within 34 seconds of each other.

We had a contingent from Mansfield Harriers down here on holiday.  15 of their members took part which really boosted the numbers.  Their top competitor was 15-year-old Henry Partridge, with Daniel Ward not far behind him.   14-year-old Claire Talbot was their first female member home.

Many thanks to everyone who turned up to compete and to marshal on what could only be described as an awful evening, especially after the wonderful weather we had last weekend.
