rob-simon-chrisMany thanks to all the marshals who turned up tonight – this morning I only had 8 on my list, tonight well over 20 turned up!

76 competitors took part tonight on what must have been the best evening’s weather out of all the events we have held over the years.? It was warm and sunny – even the pool temperature was warm (which makes a change!)

Pete Le Grice yet again put in another exceptional performance finishing the 200 metre swim and 2 mile run in a time of 12.15!? How does he do it!!? He didn’t have the fastest swim time, that honour went to Ben May completing the swim in 2.02, but Pete completed the run in 9.43.? I think I could just about manage one mile in that time!

Michael Birchmore put in a splendid performance finishing 21 seconds behind Pete in 12.36, with Kyle Kearey over minute behind in third place in 13.39.

Matt Trewhella finished fourth overall in 13.44 and was first junior home.? The Wood brothers were second and third juniors with Tom and Jacob finishing sixth and seventh overall with only five seconds separating them in 13.54 and 13.59 respectively.

Andrew Smith once again picked up first vet prize in 14.48 closely followed by Jonno Gibbins in 14.52.? Julian Wills was in third place in 15.02.

For the senior females, Alice Nicholas was first home in 15 minutes dead.? Emily Trebilcock put in a good effort finishing second in 15.53 with Melissa Reid third in 16.41.? Good luck to Melissa,?with?Alice as her guide, who are taking part in the Hyde Park paratriathlon in August.

The juniors were well represented again by Vicky Burlingham who was first in 16.29, Charlotte Emsden second in 16.37 and Amy Jolly third in 16.50.

Same names first and second for the vets with Sasha Osborne and Jackie Roberts taking these places again in 17.11 and 17.44.? A new name in third place was Kate Hoffen?in 17.59.

Well done to all who took part including Louise Schweitzer who I met whilst putting out the signs.? She is down here on holiday from Brighton and decided to take part on the spur of the moment.

The final event is on Wednesday, 31 August at 7pm with registration from 6pm.? Hope to see you all there.? Anyone who has completed three of the four events be eligible for a series prize.? If you have completed all four events there will a special something for you.
