London marathon, Plymouth Ocean City Half & Connemarathon

Mounts Bay Harriers were running in various parts of the UK this weekend.

The club had a number of runners taking part in the London Marathon via club, ballot, charity & good for age places. Weather conditions were good with a dry but not to warm day.
A number of Harriers were running marathon distance for the first time – Lollie Brewer, Tamsin Thomas & Lexie Crosse all approached the race with some nerves but they all finished & enjoyed the experience.
Neil Eddy was the first Harrier home, more used to the marathon distance at the end of a long distance triathlon, he finished in an impressive 2.34.40.
Just over the boarder in Plymouth, 6 Harriers ran the Plymouth Half Marathon, a tough hilly half in warm weather. All the Harriers enjoyed the race & were pleased with their finishing times. Ruth Glover was a few seconds off her previous half marathon best time.
Finally, Lize Whybrow traveled to The Connemara in Southern Ireland for the Connemara Marathon. The Connemarathon takes in lakes, mountains, hills & is billed as one of the most scenic around. Lize commented that the race was beautiful but hilly. She was pleased to finish in 5.52.
