Marathon du Bout du Monde – Sunday, 6 April 2014

April 6, 2014
9:00 am

For those of you who didn’t get into Penzance Triathlon or disappointed by the cancellation of the Five Tors!

I wanted to know if you would be interested in sharing the information on the Marathon du Bout du Monde on your website. It will be held in Finistère on the 6th of April 2014. Yves-Ronan Le Mao, Vice-President of the Douarnenz- Falmouth twinning committee, would like to invite Cornish athletes to participate to the event. To facilitate their attendance, the twinning committee is offering free transport from Roscoff to Douarnenez as well as free accommodation and catering to 5-6 Cornish participants.

I know it is already a short notice as participants should register to the event before the end of the month but I thought this would be of interest for your members.

Please, see below a short presentation of the event:

« Marathon du Bout du Monde »

6th of April 2014 in Brittany, France

Every year, over a thousand athletes from France and neighbouring countries participate in the Marathon linking Pointe du Raz to Douarnenez along 26 miles of spectacular scenery (possibility to run a shorter distance). The marathon is accessible to runners of all levels and athletes with disabilities and is a great opportunity to discover an outstanding landscape and the rich culture of the area.

Douarnenez and Falmouth have been twinned since 1984. To support the event and the links between the two regions, the Falmouth-Douarnenez twinning committee will organise a transport connection between Roscoff and Douarnenez on the arrival and departure of the ferry. Members of the twinning committee also offer free accommodation and catering to Cornish participants as well as free registration fees.
