I just wanted to let you know about a fun run that we have organised and if any of your runners wanted to race? We are also looking for Marshalls that may want to help us. There is no fee to race but we have sponsor forms as we really do need to raise as much money as we can.
Saturday, August 7, 2010
Time: 9:30am – 12:00pm
Location: Fun run in aid of Project Mobility
Marazion Station House to Penzance and back.
The run is to raise funds directly for Project Mobility 4×4, a Charity set up to help our troops get mobile again after life changing injuries. Marcus & I will be heading up the team alongside support from Project Mobility volunteer and head of mechanics Alec Savery, as an Ex-Marine he has been the driving force behind the latest vehicle build, a Defender 110 which will be used to work with the injured personnel from 40 Royal Marine Commandos in Taunton as a result of their current tour in Sangin, as well as 42 and 45 commandos on their next tour. Project Mobility gives vital hope and freedom to our brave heroes that struggle to regain mobility after such catastrophic injuries like limb amputation. The Project has achieved a huge amount in 9 months and has had the support from the like of Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE. All monies raised from the run will maintain the Defender that has been constructed in Penzance, with fuel, tax and insurance, as well as fund 2 Royal Marines to attend the Bayeux or Bust trip in September where they will go offroading in Northern France. For more information about the run please message me, or the project please contact the founder Countess Sally Povolotsky on firstname.lastname@example.org
