MBH Awards 2010

img_1618Ronnie James, picked up the Club Person of the Year 2010 award at their annual presentation at the Union Hotel. Ronnie was voted for by club members for his never-ending encouragement of all runners at his weekly sessions. His years of experience as one of Cornwall?s top runners are passed over for all to benefit from.

The runaway winners in the Most Improved Female Road Runner and Female Road Runner of the Year were Mhairi Saville and Rachel Tresidder respectively. During the year they have consistently been winning races and picking up age group awards including Mhairi winning the Eden?Half Marathon.

img_1605Mark Omori was voted as Male Road Runner of the Year for his sub-3 hour run at the London Marathon with Phil Sanger Most Improved Male Road Runner for getting faster at each race.

Sam Perkin has gone from being a non-swimmer to competing in most of the triathlons in Cornwall during 2010 and so deserves the Most Improved Triathlete award.

Scott Markham won hands down the Best Male Triathlon Achievement for his triple Ironman which consisted of a 7.2 mile pool swim (456 lengths!), 336 mile cycle and 78 mile run in 44 hours 44 minutes!

img_1609Phil McNevin yet again picked up the Bummer of the Year award – he just seems to attract trouble!

And congratulations to Gill Johns who knocked over four minutes off her personal best to pick up the Mike Robinson Handicap Cup.
