MBH Grows at dramatic rate

Today saw a milestone in Mounts Bay Harriers history as membership numbers exceeded the 200 mark. Since the club was formed on that very first night back in May 2005 when 14 people turned up at the dome, a mixture of both newbies and accomplished runners and triathletes, the club has steadily grown in size and stature and now competes on a par with many more established clubs in the area.

MBH pride ourselves in our totally open and friendly approach to people starting to run, perhaps aiming to compete in their first triathlon or just getting fit with a group of friendly individuals (we also have a pretty good social side!) Accomplished athletes are also welcome as we have abilities and experience to cater for all.

We are the only club in the area affiliated all 3 of the major governing bodies – England Athletics, British Triathlon and The Road Cycling Time Trial Council – our senior section meets on Mondays and Thursdays at Mounts Bay School Community Centre.

Our junior section that meets on a Friday now boasts a total of 12 Qualified athletics and triathlon accredited coachs all of whom have been CRB checked and their suitability to working with youngsters.

In 2008 MBH will host once again the Penzance Triathlon, MBH Junior Aquathlon and The Mounts Bay Remembrance Day Beach run, in addition we will also host a Summer Wednesday Evening Aquathlon series based at the Jubilee Art Deco Pool on Penzance Promenade.
