25 turned up at Marazion Surgery for the 10k handicap race organised by Mike Robinson. It was freezing!!
Jeremy and Andrew decided to go for a four mile run beforehand to warm up and Nancy ran in across the muddy fields from home in Goldsithney.
Mike had worked out everyones start time going on results from the last three or four years and estimated those who hadn’t clocked a 10k time before.
There were two (Viv & Geoff L) who somehow managed to wangle very early start times by having their 10k time adjusted – I should have tried that one!!
Eileen was first off and everyone followed after her at varying times depending on their handicap. Rob returned to the start line after pulling a hamstring after about two miles and a search party was nearly sent out for me after being nearly 18 minutes down on my estimated time (just don’t ask!!)
The photo was taken whilst waiting for me to finish as it was something to do to try and keep warm.
Well done to the youngsters, Tom and Jacob Wood, who put in respectable 10k times.
Overall winner was Gill Johns (again!) who beat her PB by 3.59, with second place being taken by Zoe Mason beating her PB by 3.49. Third was Mike Johns 2.14.
