Mid July activities- Mag 7, Lundy Island, Timmy Challenge

The evening of Saturday 20th July saw several Harriers in Saltash for the annual running of the Mag 7 – a hilly 7 miles which forms part of the road racing GP series. On a humid evening, Tim Twiggs was pleased to finish in 56th place in a cracking time of 49.35. Julie Bolitho had a course pb of 1.22.14.

On the Sunday Julie traveled to Frome in Somerset to run a half marathon, finishing in 2.55.

The previous weekend saw the second running of The Lundy Island Race – 13.5 miles round this Island situated off the North Devon Coast. The sailing to the island was calm but the temperature kept rising making conditions for the run challenging. Stuart & Rachel Thomson enjoyed the experience commenting on the stunning scenery & the good organisation of the event. Stuart completed the race in 2.09.22 & Rachel in 3.33.13.

On Sunday 14th July, Holly Tregear age 9 accompanied by Philip McNevin completed the Tim Coast 10k Adventure where they ran 10k on the coast path between Cape Cornwall and Pendeen. This is a virtual challenge organised by Bus Vyken Events where all challenge fees are donated directly to the National Trust to feed back into the conservation of the tin coast.
