Mounts Bay Harriers had a weekend of racing across the County and into Devon. Junior athletes James and Thomas Tregear tackled the Liskeard Triathlon and produced strong results enjoying the challenge. At Lands End others donned pirate disguises and ran the Bys Vyken Smugglers Scuttler half marathon to Cape Cornwall and back across the SWCP. There were podium finishes for Tristan Sellors 2nd and Gary Richards 3rd with Emma Richards finishing fast for fourth lady.
A team of 6 MBH members took part in the first Mad Hatters Caerhays castle triathlon today . There was a 1k sea swim followed by an undulating 21k bike ride finishing with a gruelling , hilly off road 6k run . Conditions were perfect and a beautiful location for a triathlon event . MBH results were :Jacob Wood 01:27:48 4th overall and 1st age cat,Andrew Hickson 01:44:50,Janet Haynes 01:47:23. 1st age cat, Calum Munday. 01:49:41,Karen McClay 01:52:41. 2nd age cat,Chris Sedgeman 01:58:58
Heading further field Mounts Bay Harriers travelled up to Dartmoor to take on the challenging Dartmoor classic cycle sportive. There was Liz Prady, Ruth Glover, Sarah Alexander, Helen Hughes and Graham Hughes. They each took on the medio course, which involved cycling 67 miles up and down the hills of Dartmoor and taking in the spectacular views. Weather conditions were perfect. There was GOLD medal for Ruth Glover and Bronze for the rest of the team.
