Such a lovely start with a gentle downhill first mile which came up for me in 5.30. First 400 metres I was shoulder to shoulder with Sam Hill. WOW! But then for the next 6 miles I wasn’t !
Brilliant results for Sam and Pete both of whom have the potential to go much further.
Other individual results.
Myself 1st in age cat 55 – 59
Nancy Hill 3rd age cat 40 – 44
Rachel Tressider 3rd age cat under 35
Andrew Hickson got below 40 minutes and continues to improve.
Several course PB’s and our glorious leader Ian managed 41.23 with no training due to weeks of injury.
I was involved with a bit of a first aid incident at the finish as I waited for other runners to come through.
Suzy Bosustow of Cornwall AC collapsed just after the finish line. I rushed to her aid. She was dehydrated [I guess ?]
She said she felt cold and all I could offer her was my sweaty running vest which I gallantly draped over her shoulders. It seemed to act like smelling salts. Not surprising really! Sorry Suzy.
Anyway, then the ambulance turned up so I bu**erd off.
Not a bad turn out of 28 MBH.
I see Chris Trewhella and Dave Marston finished only 3 seconds apart so a bit of needle there?
So the end of the season is nearly with us and time to start thinking about Winter training. But don’t forget just how quickly the GP race season starts. Early January!
Keep on running
