The event is a 10k Charity Fun Run, organised in conjunction with the Newquay International Rugby Surf Sevens Event.
The route takes in the magnificent coastal scenery around the town of Newquay. From the start at, Newquay Tretherras School, you head out along Narrowcliff, then through the town to Pentire Head, before returning via Trenance Gardens to the finish at Newquay Sports Centre.
The Charity Fun Run will take place on Sunday 19th July starting at 10.00. Registration is available from 08.00 in the Sports Hall at Newquay Tretherras School. Car Parking is available, in the fields adjoining Newquay Sports Centre, from 07.30.
The Charity Fun Run is hoping to attract 2,000 runners, with some runners being asked to raise funds for one of the four selected Charities or for a Charity or Not for profit organisation of their choice. The project must be a Sporting or Community Project based in Cornwall. The Fun Run is open to all runners, with entry on line or by post, the closing date is 1st July 2009, with a limited number of runners able to pay on the day. 50p from each runner will be donated to the Pirate Trust.
Our four chosen Charities for 2009 are CLIC Sargent, Precious Lives, Cornwall Hospice Care and Cornwall Air Ambulance.
We need to raise as much money as possible. Any amount of money will make a lot of difference to the lives of many people in Cornwall. So please support us and sign up and “Run for Cornwall”.
If you want to support the event, but feel that you are unable to compete in the Fun Run, we are looking for volunteers to assist in the smooth running of the event.
