October racing

October has brought some different events for the Harriers members be involved in, which as a triathlon club as well suits our members.

Last week, David Andrewartha ran the Burton Bradstock half marathon. This undulating Course took runners around the Dorset lanes in the wind and rain of Storm Callum. David commented that the event was well organised & friendly and he was pleased to finish 4th overall and 3rd in his age category at in 1:30:40.

Closer to home, the annual Madhatters Charlestown to Polkerris swim took place in perfect sunny conditions with a flat sea. Mark Worledge completed the 5k swim in 1.32 with Dee McClean finishing in 1.50. Dee enjoyed the swim but said it was very cold!

Tom Berryman tackled the Penzance Wheelers hill climb 3.55 Which goes from Godrevy to Hells Mouth. Conditions were favourable to cycling with a dry road and Tom was pleased to finish in 3 minutes 55 seconds.

Finally Julie Bolitho completed the Clearbrook marathon in 5 hours 50 minutes and 41 seconds. This marathon is run around the Dartmoor national park with spectacular views. This is Julie’s second time at this event and she enjoyed the experience.
