Reykjavik Marathon & The Madness of King George III

Reykjavik Marathon:
On Saturday the 24th of August saw the Reykjavik Marathon in Iceland take place in cool sunny conditions approximately 15,000 took part in either a 5k, 10k, half Marathon or the full Marathon races over a perfectly flat course. Two Mounts Bay Harries travelled to take this event on, Simon Jones (Guide runner) for Keith Gale (blind runner) who took part in the full Marathon covering 26.2miles & finished in a time of 4hours 32minutes. Whilst taking in all the sites of Reykjavik they got to finish with a spectacular festival in the city in the evening with a fireworks display being put on to celebrate the achievements of all that took part.

The Madness of King George III:
This ultra event was put on by Bysvken events with options of a 36hour, 24hour or 12hour running challenge taking place in Hayle on Sunday the 25th of August. One Mounts Bay Harrier Rachel Thomson took part in the 12hour event.
