Mounts Bay Harriers have been racing around the Uk over the last week.
On Monday 29th of May Ruth Glover and Michael Rooney took Park in the London Vitality 10,000 race. This was a new event for both of them, they both really enjoyed the race despite it it being quite hot, they ran well all the way to the finish line where it was close as to who was going to finish first. With only three seconds in it Rooney just managed to beat Glover.

In Edinburgh, Lize Whybrow took on the marathon in very warm conditions. Lize described the race as flat & not that scenic & she was pleased to finish in 6.25.
Closer to home, Friday 2nd June saw the second event of the freedom runners summer session event, Polzeath 10k. With the race starting on the beach and heading up on the coast path taking in the views Polzeath and surrounding area. There were three Mounts Bay Harriers that took part in this event and they all enjoyed it saying there were a couple of tough sections where you just had to walk up the hill.
Paul Angove was the first Harrier home In a time of 54:04, Ruth Glover was the second Harrier home in a time of 59:19 and Mike Rooney being the third Harrier in a time of 1:03:25.
