32 hardy souls took part in the annual MBH coastal run from St Levan to Porthcurno, quite balmy this year as no hail, snow or gale force winds to contend with, but with all the recent rain, a few large muddy puddles to run through on the way. Newquay, Truro, Cornwall AC and Carn were all represented by runners who had travelled down for the run (but we suspect it was more likely for Liz’s tea and cake afterwards!) Will decided to run in his army boots and obligatory half a ton rucksack, whilst poor old Charlie had left his off roaders in a plastic bag on his kitchen top and had to run in his nice new road racers! Many thanks to chaperone Geoff Letchford who, unable to run all the way, due to another injury, popped up in several places, walkie talkie in hand, standing by in case anyone needed any assistance. I’m pleased to say that we all made it back to the carpark, 2 sprained ankles, a cut knee, a butted toe and a couple of bramble scratches about 70 minutes later, all I’m pleased to say not serious (and it wasn’t me for a change)
quick regroup at Porthgwarra lookout station and then negotiating the Minack steps down to Porthcurno. Now if this has whetted your?appetite for a bit of off road – join us on New Years Day, 11am, Tinners Arms, Zennor for a 3 or 6 mile hangover cure!
