St Michael’s Mount Remembrance Run – Sunday, 9 November 2008 @ 11.02am

EXTREME WEATHER WARNING – MAY BE WET AND VERY WINDY (GALE FORCE!) – COME PREPARED.  SNORKEL, FLIPPERS AND LIFE JACKET ADVISABLE!!!

COURSE WILL CHANGE SLIGHTLY(!) DUE TO CONDITIONS.

Start lineThe second St Michael’s Mount Remembrance Run will take place on Sunday, 9 November 2008 at 11.02am.  There will be a two-minute silence before the run starts.

The run takes places on the beach at Marazion, starting directly behind the Godolphin Arms and heading towards Penzance along the beach.  High tide is at approximately 1.15pm, so there should be enough time to get to the turnaround point in line with the Tesco roundabout and back again without getting wet feet!

4.2 miles of sand, pebbles, shingle, seaweed, driftwood, outlet pipes, etc awaits entrants, with a river crossing thrown in for good measure (there is a footbridge for those who don’t fancy wading across it).  Last year 55 people entered the race and this year we are looking for more to take part.

Registration is at Mounts Bay Sailing Club from 9.30am and £1 of the entry fee goes towards the Poppy Appeal.  Every entrant will be given a race number and poppy to wear with pride.  There will also be a memento to all runners.  The Royal British Legion has asked that something red must be worn if you are taking part in the run.
