St Michael’s Mount Remembrance Run 2009

Sunday, 8 November 2009 – start 11.02am (2 minutes silence beforehand)

This is the third year of holding this event and we welcome all runners who would like to support the Poppy Appeal.

Approximately 4.2 mile beach run – including river crossing (footbridge optional), sand, shingle, pebbles, seaweed, seawater, and whatever else the elements can throw at us. Those who took part last year also had a gale force south-westerly to contend with together with torrential rain and very high tide!! Hopefully, this year, things will have calmed down a bit…..(although part of the footpath has collapsed due to the severe weather that we had at the beginning of last week – we don’t use that bit though!)

At the request of the Poppy Appeal – SOMETHING RED MUST BE WORN!!? (Last year Mike Robinson went to town and dressed head to toe in red!)

?1 of entry fee goes towards the Poppy Appeal.

Registration is?at Mounts Bay Sailing Club, Godolphin Steps, West End, Marazion from 9.30am (Behind the Godolphin Arms).? Car parking is at Folly Field which is on the right-hand side as you come into Marazion from Penzance.

15 years and above can take part.

Marshals please be at the Sailing Club at 10.15am (10.30am at the very latest!!) for a briefing and being told where to go.
