Swim Serpentine

Swim Serpentine:
Swim Serpentine is a charity event raising money for children with cancer in the Uk, This event was held on the 21st of September at the Serpentine Lake in London and has three different distances to choose from, half a mile swim, 1 mile swim or a 2 mile swim, Attending from Mounts Bay Harriers was Ruth Glover who opted for the 2 mile swim which was a 2 lap swim of the 1 mile course. The swim is organised into 12 different waves throughout the day, with the first wave starting at 08:30am and the last wave at 16:35pm. Ruth really enjoyed this swim, the weather conditions where perfect, sunny and hardly any wind across the lake. Ruth felt like she did well and had a strong swim she came 60th out of 391 in her wave which she was really pleased with, Ruth completed the swim in a time of 1:02:56. By completing the serpentine swim Ruth is now part of the London Classics finishers, which involves completing the London Marathon, Ride London and Swim serpentine. Everyone that completes the three events receives the magnificent London classics medal.
