Trail Cross is the Endurancelife term for off road triathlon. Just like its’ well established on road cousin, Trail Cross Tri events involve working your way though three back to back stages of swimming, cycling and running. The big difference is that Trail Cross Tri’s take place on rough terrain and involve open water swimming (or kayaking), off road riding and trail running.

For those who love the idea of triathlon but prefer to stay on top of the water, there is the K Class category which gives you the option to kayak in place of swimming. These run, ride, kayak events have long been a popular part of Endurancelife’s multi-sport portfolio and were formally known as MST or Multi-Sport-Trailathlon.

Off road tri is one of the fastest growing categories of multi-sport in the world, and as traditional road triathletes become increasingly adventurous and look to challenge themselves in different ways, the future of this new facet of the sport is exciting.

The Endurancelife 2009 Trail Cross Series is a fantastic new way for you to challenge yourself in the great outdoors; the series consists of 3 stand alone events, all set in beautiful locations with exciting off road courses. There are 3 distance categories to choose from and the events are designed to be accessible to those new to the sport, whilst also offering excitement and challenge a plenty to the experienced tri-athlete.

Uniquely, in addition to taking on the events as an individual, it is also possible to take part in the Trail Cross K-Class events as a team of two (paddling a double kayak) and as a relay team of 3 in the Trail Cross Tri, doing one stage each.  This adds a whole new dimension to the challenge and requires team work and strategy
