Adult/Junior Relay Duatlhon (3.5km run ? 3.5km bike- 3.5m run)
The Upper Tamar Duathlons and 10km run event takes place at Upper Tamar Lake, Kilkhampton, nr Bude and is set in stunning countryside with a wealth of wildlife all around you. The day consists of three events, 2 duathlons and a 10km run.
The first event is a standard duathlon that anyone over 18years of age can enter. The 20km bike route takes place on rural public highways and is an undulating course suitable for both mountain and road bikes. The run is set around the scenic lake.
The second, an adult/junior relay, is a variation on this where the adult completes the run leg of the duathlon and a junior completes the bike leg, which is one lap on the purpose-built cycle path around the perimeter of the lake. The junior must be aged between 8 – 16 years of age. The run and bike legs of the relay take place around the perimeter of the lake on a flat gravel path.
The third event is a 10km run, which will be 3 laps around the shoreline of the lake on the flat gravel footpath.
All races have chip timing and results will be available on the day and to download from freakevents.co.uk 24hrs after the event.
