The last Thursday of the year traditionally sees the annual running of ‘Viv’s Revenge’ a roughly 5 mile time trial on the clubs Monday evening route and this year was no exception.
19 members turned out in what was eventually an almost perfect evening for running (although earlier it was rough, I think this had, along with Penzance late night shopping, and a nasty flu / cold bug may have had an impact on numbers) The showers had broken for the start but it was a little slippery under foot. Mark O still suffering from his recent flu thing, Jer having had Christmas lunch at work, myself the same and just driven back from Exeter, poor Karen who injured herself before the start with a nasty scrape.
For 9 runners this was there first year and so would definately post a PB, would the rest of us show any improvements?
Viv carefully went through the course as it had been know that a few had decided in previous years to not take the cycle route through the car park! naughty, naughty!
Kev and Ronnie set us off and away we went – Sam and Gus setting off at lightning speed, pulling away from Jer and Mark within the first 1/4 mile
First back was Sam in 28.03 followed by Gus, 29.28 – still a long way off from Ronnies all time fastest of 26.34 back in 2006.

Well Done everyone (7 members showed improvement, with both Jer and Robert knocking over a minute off their previous best times)
So race over and back to the reason why we all did it – MINCE PIE time – thanks to Kev and Ronnie for eveything and Viv for the mince pies!
