3 stages totalling 40mile bike and 10 mile run
The Peaky Freaky Challenge is a 40 mile bike and 10 mile run split into 3 stages. The bike course is a circular route (Loxton – Brent Knoll – Brean Down – Loxton) on flat rural roads, starting and finishing at the Webbington Hotel, Loxton. The off-road run stages at Brent Knoll (2.5miles), Brean Down (3.5miles) and Crook Peak (4miles) are hilly.
Competitors will need to transport their own running shoes to each of the three transition points (at which a water/feed station will be located). The race starts at the Webbington Hotel, Loxton and begins with a 20mile bike to Brent Knoll. The competitors dismount and head off on foot to the top of Brent Knoll. Its then back on the bike and out to Brean Down, where competitors tackle the run out to Brean Down fort.
Once back in transition, they head out on the final bike leg back to the Webbington Hotel where they dismount and embark on the final run leg up to Crook Peak. At each ‘peak’ competitors will be given a coloured band which will be collected in when the competitor crosses the finish line.
•Chip timing results will be available on the day and published on the website 24 hours after the event.
•Entry fee includes use of hotel spa facilities, goody bag and free snack.
•Changing facilities and showers are available.
•Friends and families are able to use the spa facilities on the day of the event for a fee of £5.
