There is aproximately 5000 ft of total ascent over the 50km course, most of this in the first 17miles.

Navigation is very simple on this route, from the start at Hartland Square just head towards the cliff at Hartland quay. Before you reach the edge please turn right. (it’s a long way down and a cold swim!) Then just keep the sea to your left all the way to the finish, in the Historic Port Town of Bideford.
